About Andaman & Nicobar

The Andaman Islands lie in the Bay of Bengal, much nearer to Myanmar and Thailand than to the Indian mainland, yet they are part of India. Radhanagar Beach on Havelock is one of the country's most celebrated stretches of sand, the water is clear enough for snorkelling close to shore, and the coral reefs make this one of the easiest places in India to try scuba diving. Port Blair adds history, with Cellular Jail where freedom fighters were imprisoned and the colonial ruins of Ross Island. Most visitors fly into Port Blair and take ferries to Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) and Neil (Shaheed Dweep), where days pass in beach time, snorkelling and unhurried sunsets. Indian citizens need no passport or visa, which makes it an easy first island holiday. Ferries depend on the sea, so we plan with sensible buffers and keep the weather in mind throughout.
