Overview & Highlights

This private family holiday keeps the pace slow and the sleeping altitude lower. You spend three nights in Leh, visiting Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Shey, Thiksey and Hemis, then cross Khardung La for one night in Nubra Valley, with Diskit Monastery and the Hunder dunes, where children often enjoy the camels. Pangong Tso is not included because the overnight stay is at around 4,250 metres and the drive is long. If everyone is fit and your doctor agrees, we can add it as an extra. The trip is private, with your own vehicle and driver, and the plan can be adjusted to suit children and senior parents.

  • Three nights in Leh to settle in before the high pass

  • Shey, Thiksey and Hemis monasteries
  • Khardung La and a night in Nubra Valley
  • Diskit Monastery and the Hunder dunes, with an optional camel ride
  • No overnight stay at Pangong Tso, to keep the altitude gentler
