Overview & Highlights

This private honeymoon follows the classic Ladakh circuit at an easy pace: four nights in Leh, one in Nubra Valley and one beside Pangong Tso. You travel by private car with your own driver, start most mornings late, and keep the first day free for rest at altitude. Highlights include Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa, the drive over Khardung La, Diskit Monastery, a walk on the Hunder dunes at sunset and an evening beside Pangong Tso, when the lake changes colour and, if the sky is clear, the stars come out. Back in Leh you have a couples spa session and time to visit Hemis Monastery. Expect a flower welcome and room decoration on arrival and a candlelight dinner in Leh, all subject to availability. Itinerary

1Day 1: Arrival in Leh | Flower Welcome and Rest
  • Arrive at Leh Airport, where your private car and driver are waiting.
  • Transfer to your hotel, where a flower welcome and room decoration are arranged, subject to availability.
  • Rest for the whole day, as the first day at around 3,500 metres is for acclimatising.
  • Have a light dinner and an early night.
  • Overnight stay in Leh.
2Day 2: Leh Palace | Shanti Stupa | Candlelight Dinner
  • After a late breakfast, visit Leh Palace and walk through the old town.
  • Spend the afternoon at leisure in the main bazaar or a rooftop cafe.
  • Watch the sunset from Shanti Stupa, if you feel well.
  • Enjoy a candlelight dinner arranged in Leh, subject to availability.
  • Overnight stay in Leh.
3Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La | Hunder Dunes
  • After breakfast, drive north over Khardung La, at around 5,300 metres, stopping only briefly because the air is very thin.
  • Continue into Nubra Valley and visit Diskit Monastery and its Maitreya Buddha statue.
  • Walk on the Hunder sand dunes at sunset; a Bactrian camel ride is optional and paid locally.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at a camp or guesthouse in Nubra Valley.
4Day 4: Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso via Shyok | Evening by the Lake
  • After a relaxed breakfast, drive to Pangong Tso along the Shyok river route, about seven to eight hours with stops.
  • Check in at your camp or guesthouse beside the lake, at around 4,250 metres.
  • Walk to the shore as the water shifts from turquoise to deep blue; this is the signature moment of the trip.
  • If the sky is clear, stay out for stargazing, dressed warmly, as nights are very cold.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Pangong Tso.
5Day 5: Pangong Tso to Leh via Chang La | Couples Spa
  • Wake early for sunrise over the lake, weather permitting.
  • After breakfast, drive back to Leh over Chang La, about five to six hours.
  • Stop at Thiksey Monastery on the way, if time permits.
  • Enjoy a couples spa session in Leh in the evening, subject to availability.
  • Overnight stay in Leh.
6Day 6: Hemis Monastery | Leisure in Leh
  • Start late, then drive to Hemis Monastery, the largest in Ladakh.
  • Return to Leh for lunch at your own cost.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure for cafes, shopping or rest.
  • Overnight stay in Leh.
7Day 7: Departure from Leh
  • Enjoy a relaxed breakfast.
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Your private car takes you to Leh Airport for your flight home.
  • Many flights from Leh leave in the morning, so please be ready for an early start.

Weather, road conditions and safety may require changes to the itinerary.

  • Personal expenses, laundry, tips and porterage
  • Extra costs caused by road closures, weather, landslides or medical needs, including oxygen

  • GST and other taxes as applicable

Must carry

  • Original government photo ID (Aadhaar, passport or driving licence) for both travellers, with photocopies
  • Marriage certificate or wedding invitation, for the hotel welcome
  • Two passport-size photographs each
  • Down jackets or heavy fleece, thermals, woollen caps and gloves
  • Sunglasses with UV protection, sunscreen, lip balm and a hat
  • Comfortable walking shoes with good grip
  • Any prescribed medicines, including those your doctor advises for altitude

Notes

  • Please share your marriage certificate or wedding date at booking so the hotels can arrange the welcome.
  • Honeymoon touches are subject to availability and hotel policy.
  • Every traveller must carry a valid original government photo ID; we arrange the permits and confirm the current rules at booking.
  • Leh is at around 3,500 metres, and Day 1 is kept free for rest. Altitude sickness can affect anyone; tell your driver or our team at once if either of you feels unwell, and the plan may be slowed or changed.
  • Guests with heart, lung, blood-pressure or other health conditions, and pregnant women, should consult a doctor before booking.
  • Khardung La, Chang La and the Shyok route can close or slow down because of snow, landslides or washouts, so the itinerary may be altered for safety. If the Shyok route is shut, we return via Leh.
  • Stays in Nubra Valley and at Pangong Tso are in camps or guesthouses with basic facilities; hot water and electricity may be limited and connectivity is poor.
  • Standard hotel check-in is around 2 pm and check-out around 12 noon. Rates are indicative and confirmed at booking.
