This private honeymoon takes you through Meghalaya's hill landscapes at an easy pace: four nights in Shillong and one in Cherrapunji, travelling by private car. Mornings start late, and each day has just one or two outings. You see Laitlum Canyons and Elephant Falls, the cliffs and waterfalls around Cherrapunji, the village of Mawlynnong and the clear Umngot river at Dawki. The root bridge walk near Mawlynnong is short and easy, while the longer Nongriat trek can be added on request. Expect a flower welcome and bed decoration on arrival, a couples spa session and a candlelight dinner, all subject to availability. Itinerary
1Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati | Drive to Shillong | Welcome
- Arrive at Guwahati, where your private car is waiting.
- Drive to Shillong, around three hours, with a stop at Umiam Lake.
- A flower welcome and bed decoration are arranged at your hotel, subject to availability.
- Spend the evening at leisure.
- Overnight stay in Shillong.
2Day 2: Elephant Falls | Laitlum Canyons
- Enjoy a relaxed breakfast with a late start.
- Visit Elephant Falls, then drive to Laitlum Canyons for views over the gorges.
- Stroll along the ridge and return to Shillong in the afternoon.
- Spend the evening at Ward's Lake or in a cafe.
- Overnight stay in Shillong.
3Day 3: Drive to Cherrapunji | Waterfalls and Cave
- After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji (Sohra), around two hours from Shillong.
- Visit the Nohkalikai Falls viewpoint, Seven Sisters Falls and Mawsmai Cave.
- Return to your hotel to rest and watch the mist roll over the plateau.
- Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
4Day 4: Mawlynnong | Dawki Private Boat Ride | Return to Shillong
- After an early breakfast, drive towards Mawlynnong, around three hours from Cherrapunji.
- Walk through the village and to the nearby living root bridge.
- Continue to Dawki for a private boat ride on the Umngot river, subject to water conditions.
- Drive back to Shillong, arriving in the evening. This is a long day, so we start early.
- Overnight stay in Shillong.
5Day 5: Free Day | Couples Spa | Candlelight Dinner
- Sleep in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
- Spend the day at Umiam Lake or in Shillong's cafes, or simply relax.
- Enjoy a couples spa session in the afternoon, subject to availability.
- In the evening, enjoy a candlelight dinner, subject to availability.
- Overnight stay in Shillong.
6Day 6: Departure from Guwahati
- Enjoy a relaxed breakfast.
- Check out and travel by private car to Guwahati, about three hours.
- Plan departures from the afternoon onwards to allow for road delays.
Weather, road conditions and safety may require changes to the itinerary.

Notes
- Please share your marriage certificate or wedding date at booking so the hotels can arrange the welcome.
- Honeymoon touches are subject to availability and hotel policy.
- Carry a valid government photo ID such as an Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID or driving licence. Standard hotel check-in is around 2 pm and check-out around 12 noon.
- The order of the itinerary may change due to weather, road or operational conditions, without reducing the sights covered.
- Rates and availability are confirmed at the time of booking. Cancellation and refund are as per our Terms & Conditions.
- Hill roads are winding. Guwahati to Shillong is about 100 km and takes around 3 hours, often longer in traffic or rain.
- Meghalaya's monsoon runs from June to September with extremely heavy rain, landslides and road delays; treks, boating and viewpoints may be restricted or closed for safety.
- Accommodation around Cherrapunji, Mawlynnong and Dawki is simpler than in Shillong, and hot water, power and mobile networks can be limited. Carry cash, as ATMs, cards and UPI may not work there.
- Day 4 is a long driving day through hill country, so we start early to keep it comfortable.
